ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Human Resources Department is searching for a highly effective Workers’ Compensation Program Manager (classification: Risk Management Analyst) to join our team! The ideal candidate demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment on highly complex issues. Desirable candidates will demonstrate political awareness, attention to detail, organization and the ability to communicate at all levels of the OCFA effectively.

Position specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing, recommending, and implementing workers' compensation programs, objectives and measurements
Researching and negotiating contract services
Assist with gathering witnesses, witness testimony, and depositions for legal cases
Serving as a liaison with the Orange County Employee Retirement System regarding pending and past retirees
Evaluates current and pending legislation related to assigned area of responsibility
Directs/manages the Third-Party Administration self-insured workers' compensation program
Provide subject matter expertise to OCFA staff
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION (position requirements at entry):
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or a related field
EXPERIENCE (position requirements at entry):
Four (4) years or professional level risk management or related experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid California Driver License (position requirement at entry)
Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, Self-Insured Administrator Certificate
HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Workers' Compensation Claims Administrator Certification
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
