Overview

Manage timely and appropriate distribution of narrative reports to reinsurance and excess carriers for PIPS, PLCA and Excess programs. Provide feedback to managers and supervisors on large loss reports with inconsistencies, inaccuracies or missing information.  Work with managers and supervisors on responding to reinsurers’ individual claim questions and inquiries. Provide support to the Reinsurance Manager for the WC Penalty Prevention Program.

 

What You'll Do

  • Manage PIPS Reporting analytics to include distribution of reinsurance reports to carriers (i.e., PIPS & Excess COVID-19 monthly analyses).

  • Maintain reinsurance coverage data and ensure in compliance with ongoing contractual obligations each year.

  • Research and identify reinsurance and/or excess coverage as needed.

  • Review and approval of Large Loss Reports and work with the Management Team on updates.

  • Analyze monthly large loss reports to ensure consistency and accuracy of reserving practices within all branches and prepare monthly updates to the management team.

  • Ensure internal quality control requirements meet and timely distribution of PIPS reports to various reinsurers.

  • Respond to carrier and reinsurance inquiries and work with the Management Team regarding claim details.

  • Analyze monthly internal PLCA reports (PL Excess, SELF, $250K change, RI Lit Date Change report).

  • Prepare and distribute excess reimbursement requests and escalate past due requests.

  • Provide ad hoc excess reports on as requested basis for carriers, JPA’s, auditors and clients.

  • Provide support for SAWCX excess reporting and outside TPAs upon request.

  • Oversight of reporting coding in iVOS, notes and diaries on behalf of managers and supervisors.

  • Manage all external carrier 24/7 system access and Terms of Use Agreements.

  • Analyze monthly spreadsheets for trends on reinsurance (timely reporting, overpayments, aged inquiries, etc.).

  • Review WC Treaty issues and coordinate with WC Technicians and IT for corrections as needed monthly.

  • Provide support for reinsurance financial reconciliation to Finance.

  • Manage Bank Account Reconciliations for PIPS CAT Claim payment consolidation by incident and coordinate necessary adjustments to correct errors.

  • Work with Finance to address any funding discrepancies and assist with responses to carriers.

  • Determine appropriateness of monthly penalty report and request reimbursement checks for Keenan fault penalties.

  • Analyze and provide monthly penalty report and audit reports with direction to WC managers for action needed.

  • Develop, audit and deliver feedback to the WC claims team statewide on target audits as needed.

  • Special projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • WCCP Designation and/or ARe Designation preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ of workers’ compensation and/or liability claims examiner experience required.

  • Ability to work independently and work in a team environment.

  • Ability to develop effective tools to improve workflows and outcomes.

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to identify issues and implement solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with top management at carrier partners.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with emphasis on Excel data analysis, Internet Explorer, iVOS (preferred).

Compensation:

 

The target salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Hybrid work environment flexibility.
